Summary
The Asian pavilion of Prada Transformer, developed with OMA / Rem Koolhaas. A tetrahedral structure rotates by crane to create four distinct spaces.
Each face of the tetrahedral structure is optimized for a different programme — fashion shows, cinema, exhibitions or events. Turning the structure by crane creates a new floor and a new spatial experience.
la-fraise participated in the design with Rem Koolhaas, OMA and SL+A, creating a dramatic urban event against the backdrop of Gyeonghuigung for Seoul’s 100th anniversary.
Although temporary, the pavilion attracted international media attention and became a notable intersection of architecture, fashion and media in Korea.
