Summary
The beginning of the Mark Hills series: concrete volumes and deep balconies carve out private space within the city.
Articulated volumes respond to the terrain and orientation, securing both privacy and views for each home.
Contrasts between exposed concrete and stone, together with deeply shaded balconies, create a façade that changes with time.
The architectural language of the later Mark Hills series — honest structure, material presence and restrained details — was established in this project.
